In truth, he should be the last person she should even consider visiting, in this strange after-life of sorts...and yet here she sits at the end his bed, watching him quietly.

He is fast asleep—she can see that, though she knows full well she will get a response if she speaks. Because this is the only way to get through to him now, isn't it? This world of dreams that even Deus cannot touch—
