cat's out of the bag;
[Truth be told, it hadn't been all that long since Maya had last seen Nick. Or... maybe it had, and she simply failed to notice, due to how busy things had gotten lately. Between his case load picking up since his rise to fame, and her new duties as the Kurain Master, it's hard to blame either of them for losing track of time-- and being able to attend every one of his cases to cheer him on had been a luxury she's long since lost.
This case was no different. Though when she heard that Nick was to face off against a new prosecutor whom he'd never met before, she wished she could be there for him all the more. She was a bit annoyed, too, honestly; but no matter how much she stomped her feet and rushed in her duties, the date long passed without her being able to attend.
She finds herself at Wright & Co. Law Offices a week and a half-- no, almost two weeks later, with no indicator that anything had gone wrong at all. Yet she hasn't heard from Nick since that day; not so much as a phone call. Why, when she'd proven herself to be so interested? When she promised him, after all they'd been through together, that she would try to balance her master duties, and her duties as his assistant at the same time?
Surely he couldn't be that mad that she couldn't attend this one trial. He didn't sound like it-- he didn't sound like he needed the help at all, in fact.
So Maya can only knock on the door and tap her foot, waiting not so patiently for him to answer.]
