how does vacation? ( sae | makoto )
[ She had made a promise to her little sister, and even she had to admit it. With the momentary lull in the Shido case and the waiting game in full swing, there was no better time to fulfill it.
Sae had woken up early out of a feeling of obligation more than anything else. In the corner of her meager (yet clean) room, she had a bag packed and organized for four days and three nights; and on her dresser sat their destination. A pamphlet, outlining a luxurious hotel & spa, some two hours away from home.
She changed into casual summer attire, something comfortable for the ride, which felt odd to say the least. Feeling adventurous with early morning energy to burn, she also put her hair into a ponytail, which conveniently kept it out of the way while she put breakfast together.
All that said and done, after setting the table, Sae finally decided she didn't want to wait anymore. She found her little sister's door and knocked on it softly with a sigh.
Not that she'd still be sleeping this late into the morning, surely. ]
Makoto? Breakfast is ready.
[ . . . ]
Don't forget, check-in is at noon.
[ Blah blah blah traffic. Blah blah blah travel time!! Okay, mom. ]

She guesses she's already obtained a part of what she wanted -- she's gotten her sister back, after all.
Makoto looks up from her suitcase when she hears the knocking on her door. ]
Yes, Sis! Ah, one second--
[ She's going to go ahead and zip that up, making her way to the door so she can step out to meet her sister. ]
I've already finished packing, so we can eat together.

For once.
[ Between Makoto's studies and Phantom Thievery and Sae's multitude of cases, it was a miracle they even saw each other in the mornings and evenings, let alone for a meal. It isn't anything fancy, mind you: your traditional Japanese breakfast, with fish, miso soup, tea.
But it'll do just fine, for just the two of them. ]
Let's do that first then. After that, we can load our bags.

She has seen Sae at her worst. There's nothing to be embarrassed about now. ]
. . . Thank you for taking care of the reservations. [ She chuckles softly. ] I hope you believe me when I say I'm looking forward to this.
