[ All things considered, the hike is a pleasant one. Eve welcomes the gorgeous view, the way her sweat is chilled by the cool mountain air as she makes footprints with her boots in the mud. If you asked her if she regretted taking Wright's place by his companion's side that day, she'd probably say no.

[ ...Alright. The first few times are easy enough to ignore, especially since Maya hasn't reacted. The waterfall is doing a number on her hearing, anyway, so Eve closes her eyes again. At worst, any storm that's coming is still pretty far away.

After a while? Yeah, the thunder starts getting more noticeable.

When Eve opens her eyes next, the clouds are markedly gray, though she hasn't noticed any drops on the ground yet. ]
