(( Choose a scenario below or write your own! I'm flexible o7
She's new, so please bear with me. Apologies in advance for the slow. ))
a. rain & coffee
[What a relentless downpour.
Sure, she was expecting rain, but this hadn't exactly been what she was hoping for when she dragged Vincent out today. It came on so suddenly, too... but there's still so much to do. They can't afford to lose any days, especially with the both of them working so much lately to pay for it.
Their wedding...
Katherine sighs, shielding her face (and glasses) with her hand as she presses forward in a dash. She knows there's a coffee shop up ahead -- maybe they can at least wait out the storm there...? Something sweet...
...]
Vincent. Hey, be sure to keep up...
[She shouts sternly over the rain, glancing back for just a moment. Hearing no response and not seeing that familiar goofy face, though, she slows -- her expression hardening.
But it's too late.]
Vince --?
[Wham.
She slams right into someone in front of her. Her glasses loosen and nearly fall off her face, and she hears the clattering of that person's belongings all over the pavement.
Damn it.]
b. night circus (cloud maze)
[Okay... so there's a circus in town tonight. And for some reason, Katherine isn't questioning whether she's too old for this (she definitely is). She wanders around what is apparently a maze made of clouds, which makes he feel extra childish, but... isn't that just fine?
Isn't this supposed to be fun?
Something nags at the back of her mind: like why hasn't she heard about this place on the news? Why is it only here now that the sun's gone down... and why didn't she notice anyone setting up at all?
If someone looks like they could possibly be an employee of the circus, she may approach. Otherwise, she'll wander blissfully by herself, trying not to fall...
And anyone near by may catch an occasional rare smile of hers.]
c. zombies?
[First it was all over the news. Something about a deadly virus. Of course, Katherine didn't want to believe it herself -- she was far too busy to get involved. Isolated incidents becoming more frequent, they said. She questioned the newscasters' sanity for reporting such a thing. She questioned her own sanity.
But then it happened.
The smell of blood and exposed flesh, when she so happens to stop at the store for a gallon of water -- preparing for this so called "emergency" coming. The hungry snarl that gets louder as she approaches the check out counter. The feeling of foreboding when she realizes it's entirely too quiet, and she hasn't seen a single other customer.
...Nor anyone on the street.
The cashier turns, revealing the ugliest face she's ever seen in recent memory. Katherine's eyes widen in fear and disgust, as the thing opens its mouth, looking far too interested in her. If it was once human, it isn't anymore.
She screams. The only thing she can think to do, despite the fact it's likely to make it worse.
She remembers she has a knife for protection -- she reaches for it in the purse at her side, but it's too late. Her legs have already made the decision for her, and she starts to back away.
She's running, and the sound of the store bell rings in her ears as she bolts out the door.]

Konoha doesn't feel that the hand holding is strange. Rather something familiar and warm. It was a connection built between two people, and engaging in such a connection would make one feel less awkward... right? He didn't want her to feel awkward. He wanted her to help him.
She was helping him.
Helping him made her a good person. Yes, she was a good person.
He couldn't understand the slight hesitation, but when the woman actually began to lead, he said nothing against the fact. Instead silently following behind as if to be a lost puppy dog. ]
Ah...? [ Nearly crashing into her when she comes to a stop, Konoha will copy her gaze to the rope above. His expression seems confused; eyes squint and a frown plastered across robotic features. ]
Something is there... [ Like that wasn't obvious enough. ] ... rope?
no subject
Right. The exit must be somewhere at the top of this maze tower, so we have to climb it.
[She steps forward to create some distance between them and tugs at the rope to test its sturdiness. Would it support two...?]
What do you think?
1/2
Yes, he understood.
It takes him a moment to look away from the rope, almost as if he was taking his time to examine it, before looking back down at her. Konoha will give one confirmed nod. ]
I can climb this. [ His voice, though slightly monotone, is determined. ]
no subject
Please hold on tight.

W- Wait, hold on! I can --
[climb it myself--]

Stop, I --!!
k
H... How are you doing this?
no subject
He keeps a steady pace at this point- carefully gripping the bottom of the rope with his feet as he pushes himself up to continue forward. ]
How am I... doing this? [ His words echo her confusion with one of his own. Concentration is mixed with bafflement and he nearly loses his grip at one point.
W-whoa, stopping to compose himself. ]
... I don't know.
[ AND THEN HE CONTINUES ONCE AGAIN. ]

she's going to die.]

He's using his feet, which is frankly astonishing. And when they reach the top (or at least the next level), she eagerly steps back down onto the cloudy substance, creating some distance between the two of them as she breathes.]
no subject
[It's difficult to tell whether or not this is a compliment.]
no subject
What he was sure of though, was that this place too was nothing he was familiar with. Face squinting at this, the white haired boy turns his eyes over the area before confronting Katherine once again. ]
Thank you. [ He's taking it as a compliment DEALWITHIT.GIF ]
Are we there yet? I don't- [ I don't know this place, either. Could she herself not know where they were going? ]
I'm still lost. Are we both lost now?
[ Loving that personal space? Well it's about to be interrupted as Konoha goes to grab her hand once again. ]
We need to leave.
no subject
She stares at him wearily, but quietly sighs with relief when her feet seem to remain on the ground; and at his childish questions, she quickly goes back into Mother Mode again, all too easily.]
We will, don't worry. There was at least one more story, I think... so let's find another rope.
[She looks around cautiously. It still doesn't seem to be dangerous, though she may insist that she climb up herself this time.]
no subject
He can accept this Mother Mode, and finds some comfort in her words, however weary they may be. ]
Have you been here before? [ He asks, turning his head slightly to look at her as he continues to look for the rope at the same time. ]
no subject
No, but mazes are pretty simple.
[She pauses, and then picks a direction, running her hand along the misty wall.]
This is the first one I've seen made out of clouds like this, though. It really is like something out of a dream...
no subject
it was time to try it out.
Wordlessly, the boy reached a hand to his face. taking both his thumb and index finger and clamping it tightly to his cheek. Puuuuuuulls on it... and let's go!!
....
Oh. Yeah. That hurt. ]
Ow.
