[ The train is about as crowded as uncomfortable as she'd expected at that hour. Nothing out of the ordinary. Yukari takes her usual route back to Gekkoukan and walks through the front door like she always does.

Seeing the time, she actually arrived a little faster than she expected. ]

I'm home.

[ It's quiet, though. She takes off her cardigan (because it's hot, damn it) and tosses the bag with her new markers and ink pad onto the couch nearby as she makes her way into the kitchen. On the way there, she sees a bunch of plates still set up on the dining table.

And it looks like Shinji's done with most of the cooking. ]

Hey. Guess they're taking their time after all, huh?
tsundyne: (umm....)

[Walking down the train's aisle feels like a chore. It's too quiet, and the atmosphere is suffocating because of it. Her head feels heavy and clouded (which doesn't help), and she doesn't actually remember how she got here. She doesn't even know why she's here, aside from an overly friendly train conductor who'd ushered her on... and maybe that's what pisses her off the most.

Her name is Yukari Takeba. She's a student at Gekkoukan High, and she takes the train to school, but... it isn't like this. It was never like this.

She keeps going. She passes empty seat after empty seat, with no inclination to sit down, no real motivation. Her eyes wander from one side to the other, almost like she's paranoid or... looking, waiting for something. She doesn't know what.

--Until finally, she finds him.

She spots him sitting alone, and his dark blue hair stands out against the dull gray and white.

She remembers, and it hurts. Everything does.

She'd been fighting. She was finally going to be okay... They were finally going to be free.]

It's you. [Her voice is hopeful and lively for the first time, until the rational part of her cuts in. But it can't be.

She'd gone to his funeral. She'd put it behind her. She clenches her fist, almost angry that she'd even let herself entertain the thought...]

This is... probably some messed up dream, right?
tsundyne: (sleeps on)
[personal profile] tsundyne
[Just another ordinary day.

Well, as ordinary as it can be anyway, as a member of SEES. Today would be especially ordinary, in fact, since second-years like Yukari have a nice big juicy test to remind them that in the end, they really are just normal students. Which is just fine by her, since that's all she ever wanted to be anyway.

Even after forgoing Tartarus explorations, though, it seems obvious that she didn't really get much sleep last night. She hasn't felt well at all, actually, since she woke up this morning. Her throat is sore for starters, and she has some random fits of coughing on occasion that she hopes will go unnoticed; but right now the most notable thing is the headache that's coming on, which she is trying dutifully to ignore.

Granted, maybe she did go a little overboard with the studying without really intending to. Ask her, however, and she'll insist that she's fine!

Except for the part where she's falling asleep on the monorail.

. . . As the train arrives at Gekkoukan High.

Wow, these seats are a lot more comfortable than she remembers—

[It's a little surprising, perhaps, that he didn't show up to Mitsuru-senpai's speech. Listening to her every day, though, even Yukari could see how it would lose its appeal. Seeing as how this would be her graduation, however, not to mention Akihiko-senpai's, she thought maybe he'd make an exception-- but if he has a more important place to be, that's fine with her.

...That's what she keeps telling herself, anyway, as she fidgets, listening to the chatter in the auditorium. Waiting for this thing to start, she can't shake the feeling that there's somewhere else she has to be, too-- and in the end, it's too much.

She stands up.

"...Where are you going?" she could hear some of the others ask already. She couldn't even distinguish who it was, but it doesn't matter, since in the end, her response is the same.

She brushes them off-- her friends, whom she'd been living with for the entire year. And she finds herself heading towards the roof, by herself, as if being pulled by a magnet.

...The roof of the school? What could possibly be waiting for her there? Why does it sound so familiar to her that she should be there on this day?

She doesn't exactly know, but she intends to find out.

So she keeps running faster, climbing more stairs than she'd cared to count; and she bursts the door open after coming to it, perhaps more violently than intended. The sound of it is enough to shake more of her memories loose. Memories of the past year-- real ones.

And in front of her, that's...

Minato...]

[She'd come to Yakushima expecting a vacation, not a family history lesson.

To say she's annoyed is an understatement, and she's actually seriously hoping no one follows her to start a pity party. All she wants is some time to clear her mind, after that
bomb's been dropped--to think that her father was responsible for everything they're going through now!--and the least they could do is give her that much after ruining her image of him.

...They could never ruin it completely, though. No, it would take much more than that. Even now, she still treasures the heart choker he gave her very dearly, though in her frustration, she's taken it off and placed it in the sand next to her.

The weather is too hot anyway...but she occasionally glances over to make sure it hasn't walked off anywhere. That'd be stupid, right?
]

Hey.

[She hears it amidst the sound of waves.]

Hey! Down here...

[...Is it talking to her?]

[It's not terribly surprising that there'd be so many people running about Naganaki Shrine, with graduation coming up so soon for the seniors. Even though she's not one herself, Yukari decides to visit anyway--to pray for her own hopes and dreams--and though she doesn't regret it, she wishes she'd picked a different day.

She finds herself scrambling out of the mass of people to sit at a (surprisingly) vacant bench, near the playground; watching as people go by, with a sigh. Thinking back on what she'd just prayed for.

Always feels like there's something she's forgotten...

[December's not exactly been the happiest time for SEES. In fact, the year had been spiraling downward, it seemed, since October, when they lost Shinji--but a certain someone is determined not to let that, or any of their other SEES responsibilties, ruin Christmas.

That someone would be Yukari, and she's on the first floor lounge right now...thinking.

They had a decision to make, sure. But it seemed like they'd already made up their minds anyway. They're not about to kill Ryoji...

Minato defintely doesn't want to. And she knows Mitsuru doesn't either--Yukari can tell, even now as she innocently reads, sitting across from her. No one else had returned from the school yet--

So she figures why not, and takes a chance. Yukari decides to ask, a bit impulsively--
]

...Hey, senpai. D'you wanna go to Paulownia Mall with me?
tsundyne: (ah well crap)
[personal profile] tsundyne
[Well, she shouldn't have been surprised.

Yukari had a pretty good idea of how big this party was going to be, and it stood to reason that Junpei would run around like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to hit on all of the girls. Even the SEES members are off doing their own thing: Minato being pulled in all directions, Aigis stalking him as usual and the senpais...well, being their usual selves, making sure nobody does anything stupid. Not that someone like Yukari would need that sort of supervision, nor should others her age, but--

Regardless, she found herself feeling mostly alone, soda in her hand as she looks for a quiet place to sit with her thoughts. Maybe outside, where it's cooler and less crowded.

It doesn't quite...work though, and her legs freeze up when she tries to leave. Like maybe she doesn't really want to, or she keeps changing her mind. She doesn't really understand it! Instead of being frustrated about it though, she simply sighs, taking note of the mistletoe hanging above her head.

She has no clue that it has something to do with why she can't leave, but she does start to look around.

Nobody else is leaving either...how strange.
]

tsundyne: (eh???)
[personal profile] tsundyne
[So Yukari doesn't really know what to tell her friends about the adventures she had back in Hyrule. It was...a bizarre experience, to be sure, and she's experienced a lot of strange things in her life. She's not sure what to make of it, and though the memories feel very real to her, she's almost ready to chalk it up to a dream.

She's been back for a few days now, and she hasn't told anyone, even though it still lingers on her mind. Every time she sees someone in a green jacket that vaguely looks like her, or she sees someone in the music club playing the flute a certain way...

Ugh. So weird.

She is walking out of Gekkoukan High after a particularly long day, ready to forget about it all and just head over to the mall for a few hours, when--

She spots her.

The green tunic, the floating ball of light. She looks like she's just been cut out and pasted, she's so out of place--

[ The feed clicks on, with Yukari standing in the center, Fuuka and Junpei at her side. They hope this goes as well as when they practiced it... ]

H-hey, Vatheon. Fuuka and I were doing some shopping, and--

Have any of you guys been to the 'Viking Pool' just past the marketplace in the middle district?

[ There is a brief pause--

Before Fuuka chimes in.
]

Oh! Uh ...

The name was pretty odd choice, but there wasn't anything dangerous there. It was a pretty nice pool. Big enough to be water park.

[ ...Yukari nods to agree then, trusting Fuuka's judgement. ]

Yeah! So, uh...you know, we thought it might be a pretty cool place to have a pool party...maybe, say, mid-next week? ...it's also attached to an old building, where Junpei here wants to do some video gaming, too.

[ And Junpei looks enthusiastic here, as if he's been waiting for this to be mentioned. ]

A LAN party! It'll be at LEAST half the awesome of this whole thing--seriously! So, uh...yeah...

...who wants to come?!

[ And after a lingering moment to let them take in the message, Yukari clicks the feed off. Hoping they haven't forgotten anything. If they have--well, they could ask questions, right? ]

(( OOC: SO YEAH. As you might have guessed, this is a massive joint post between Yukari, Junpei, and Fuuka. You may get any combination of them in reply, and feel free to directly address any of them as well.

We're hoping to get the actual party log up soon, before more event stuff happens and I have to go on hiatus, so...keep an eye out! o7 ))

[ ...well, if they're going to do this together, then they'd better practice, right? It's been a while since Yukari's made an open broadcast to Vatheon, but no one would know to come unless she does. And Fuuka, even Junpei agreed to help, though she suspects Junpei's mostly there to get more people to come to his LAN party.

Yukari and Fuuka however...well, they have something else in mind.

They're all hosting the party together, though, so--pretending like she's addressing an audience--

[ Yukari is not happy tonight.

It might be the darkness, how late it's gotten, or how she should have been home at least two hours ago--but either way, she is walking out of Chagall's Cafe, and Paulownia Mall--
finally!--with a huff. She didn't even have time to change out of her work uniform, and she suspects if she hadn't been feeling so guilty lately over Minato paying for all of their fighting equipment, she wouldn't even be doing this.

But it's over at least, for tonight. She got the money, which is all she wants, really--and tomorrow she can pop in to talk to Officer Kurosawa about that shiny new bow she's been eying the past week.

She is sort of grumbling under her breath--too late to join the others in Tartarus now, they were probably waiting at the school by then.

But maybe if she hurries, she can make it home before the Dark Hour hits...
