Perhaps Adrien was just a little full of himself to think she was lying. A part of him wanted to believe she was, at least, though he had no doubts that she really was into the fashion scene. That's why he invited her to his next show, after all.
And if he gets just a few more answers about how she really felt in the process... well, that was just a bonus.
So here he is at the grand opening of Paris's newest amusement park, back stage, costumed in his dad's latest line of fashion, just......waiting. (Literally his least favorite pasttime.)
He has been texting Marinette the whole time, in between Nathalie nagging him not to ruin his make-up. It started as a joke, just to see how long he could keep it up without her noticing—but when she did notice and didn't care, he just kind of kept going.
